Cable stitch holders are extremely useful for cable patterns, like cricket jumpers! Cabling is done by slipping stitches onto a cable needle, holding it at the front of back of the work, knitting other stitches, and then knitting from the cable needle so the work "twists". I adore the look of cable knitting, so I use these all the time!
There are three cable needles in a pack - pink, green and white, in thin, medium and thick widths. This style from Clover is my personal favourite because they're cranked, meaning they have the "dip" in the middle to rest stitches on without them falling off as they might do on straight needles.
